About K-FIT Kathu !!

K_Fit KathuK-FIT is a workout combination of Kettlebell and functional fitness techniques in an assisted training facility. It is designed to be a high intensity workout that is aimed at optimizing physical functionality, health and mobility.
K-FIT exercises focus on strength, agility and fitness. The overall health benefits of K-FIT will allow you to see and feel practical changes in your body, making you feel happier and healthier in your everyday life.
What To Expect The large indoor training area provides ample space for a wide variety of exercises but when weather permits, we also enjoy training outside. After a proper warm-up session the instructor will go through each exercise on the board which makes up your workout of the day (WOD) before the clock is started.
In terms of training gear, you don’t need much. Just be sure you are wearing comfortable training/running shoes and remember your gloves, water bottle and hand towel.
At K-FIT we don’t use big fancy machines to train but instead we make use of functional items such as kettlebells, skipping ropes, tractor tyres, medicine balls, rings, bars and more. Apart from these basic training tools we also make use of the most magical of training aids, your very own body.
How K-FIT WorksK-FIT classes are taken in groups and led by qualified instructors who are on-hand at all times to assist each individual while training. Every day offers a completely new “workout of the day” (WOD) meaning you will always be doing something different and will never get bored! Daily performance records are kept to track fitness progress, allowing you to compete against yourself or set personal goals. Training usually takes about 40 minutes and starts on the hour. Who Can Join K-FITK-FIT is for everyone, male or female, 16 or 60, fit or unfit.
Exercises are adaptable to suit just about anyone and if you have difficulty with any of the techniques, there is always an instructor available to assist.

Functional fitness involves training and strengthening the body for activities performed in daily life. Strengthening the body with squats, dead lifts, and other exercises reduce the risk of injury when performing everyday tasks such as standing from a seated position and lifting or moving heavy objects. In sport, an improved functional fitness level will result in better muscle balance and joint stability with the added advantage of possibly decreasing your risk to injury.

At K-FIT, exercise programmes are designed around the three dimensional principals of movement, and are performed using gravity, momentum and ground force reactions. This allows your body to develop its natural ability to move in six degrees of freedom. In comparison, traditional gym machines restrict movements to a single plane of motion, which is an unnatural form of movement for the body and may potentially lead to faulty movement patterns or injury.

We understand both the benefits and risks associated with this unique approach to exercise and by participation in our classes you will quickly reap the rewards of knowledge of movement and muscle function as well as be protected from unnecessary harm to your body.

Kettlebells are cast iron weights that resemble a bowling ball with a handle and are the core component of the K-FIT functional training programme. Kettlebells have taken the exercise and fitness world by storm. Developed by the Russian army, the popularity of kettlebells has risen in combination with a functional fitness approach.

Kettlebells are a brilliant form of functional resistance training covering a combination of cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training. Even basic exercises like swings, snatches and the clean and jerk with kettlebells engage a large number of key muscles at one time, yielding exceptionally fast results that are easily maintained long term.

Kettlebell programmes at K-FIT are designed using Steve Cotter’s FITT Principle. The FITT Principle makes use of exercise techniques focused on the frequency, intensity, time and type. Frequency being how often one exercises, intensity meaning how vigorously the exercise is performed, time is the duration of activity per session and type refers to the kind of exercise that is being done. These four principles correctly combined will ensure an improvement in fitness, body weight, strength and mobility. It is not boring and nothing like traditional gym programmes.
